Some legacies are written in books. Some are written in golden letters through the lives they transform.

On 22 January 2001, Revered Guru Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan established the Shah Satnam Ji Green ‘S’ Welfare Committee with a noble vision, to create a dedicated team of selfless volunteers ever-ready to stand beside humanity in times of disaster, distress and need. What began as a humble yet visionary initiative has, over the years, blossomed into a vast humanitarian movement, inspiring countless people to turn compassion into action and selfless service into a way of life.

More than two decades later, the Green ‘S’ stands as a remarkable embodiment of humanity, compassion and unwavering dedication. From rescuing accident victims and saving distressed animals to donating blood, building homes for the needy, supporting women and children, restoring eyesight, responding to natural disasters and protecting the environment, its volunteers have carried the message of selfless service into countless communities.

Today, the movement encompasses 176 humanitarian welfare initiatives, touching virtually every sphere of social welfare. Yet behind every number is a human story, a life helped, a family supported, a smile restored or a moment of despair transformed into hope.

This is the legacy of the Green ‘S’, born from a vision of compassion, strengthened through selfless service and continuing to inspire generations.

From a Vision to a Vast Humanitarian Movement

The Green ‘S’ Welfare Committee is much more than a volunteer organisation. It represents a philosophy of life; live for others, serve without expectation and bring relief wherever suffering exists.

Today, this vision has expanded into an extraordinary network of 176 humanitarian welfare initiatives. What makes this journey truly remarkable is Guru Ji’s 360-degree approach to welfare. The team does not merely respond when someone is in distress; it strives to address the challenges that create distress in the first place, empowering people, protecting nature, promoting healthy and responsible living, strengthening families and inspiring individuals to become self-reliant. It is a journey where service is not an occasional act of kindness, but a continuous commitment to humanity.

A Drop of Blood Can Become Someone’s Tomorrow

Among the most powerful examples is the True Blood Pump initiative.

Since 2003, volunteers have donated an astounding 3,383,093 units of blood, equivalent to 15,22,392 litres, up to June 2026. Every unit represents a precious opportunity for someone battling illness, undergoing treatment or fighting for life.

The spirit of giving extends beyond blood. Through DONATE, support is provided to thalassemia patients, army, accidental patients, and anyone in emergency requiring regular treatment and transfusions. Through the New Life initiative, financial assistance and medical treatment have reached 43,205 needy individuals from 2013 to June 2026.

Behind these numbers are countless moments of anxiety transformed into hope, families waiting for good news, patients given another chance to recover and loved ones breathing a little easier.

Bringing Light Where Darkness Once Was

For more than three decades, the Green ‘S’ welfare initiatives have also worked to restore the gift of vision.

Under Divine Light/Transplanting Eyes, free eye operations and associated support have helped restore sight. From 1992 to December 2025, 28,947 eye operations had been carried out.

The commitment to serve does not end with one’s lifetime. Under Eternal Service, 2,807 posthumous body donations have been made from 2008 to June 2026 for medical research. Similarly, 18,646 posthumous eye donations have been made from 2008 to June 2026.

It is a profound circle of selflessness, while alive, serving those in need; and even after death, leaving behind something that can heal, educate or bring light to another life. 

Compassion That Embraces Every Living Being

Compassion is at its purest when it reaches those who cannot speak for themselves. For the Green ‘S’, every life matters; whether it walks on two feet, four feet, or takes flight across the sky.

Across India and abroad, Green ‘S’ volunteers have saved thousands of animals injured in accidents, arranging timely medical care and shelter wherever possible. When an animal could not be saved, they ensured its remains were handled with dignity and respectfully laid to rest. 

Birds’ Nurturing encourages people to place water and food for birds, particularly during scorching summers, while Domestic Animal Care promotes responsible care of pets, ensuring they are never abandoned. Gau Mata Ki Jhanki focuses on creating safe, green spaces with water, fodder and shade where cows can rest and roam freely.

This spirit of compassion reaches beyond individual creatures to the very environment that sustains all life.

Under the Nature Campaign, an extraordinary 350,788,119 trees have been planted from 2007 to 24 June 2026. Alongside this, initiatives such as Rainwater Harvesting, Mini Forests on Farmlands, Water Is Life, Save Energy and Pollution-Free Environment promote a more sustainable future.

From a bowl of water placed on a rooftop for a thirsty bird to millions of trees taking root in the soil, every act carries the same message: protect life, nurture nature and leave the Earth kinder, greener and healthier than we found it.

Turning Houses into Homes, and Hardship into Hope

For a family living beneath a crumbling roof, a home is far more than bricks and walls; it is a sanctuary of safety, dignity and dreams. Through Homely Shelter, the Green ‘S’ has turned this dream into reality, with 2,365 homes built for needy families from 2008 to June 2026.

But the commitment to care extends to life’s most basic necessities. Through the Food Bank, 25,838 individuals received food support from 2022 to June 2026, ensuring that hunger does not overshadow their lives. Meanwhile, the Cloth Bank has provided free clothing to 28,128 people from 2007 to 2026, bringing warmth, comfort and dignity to those unable to afford it.

Behind every figure is a human story; a family sleeping peacefully under a secure roof, a hungry person receiving nourishing meals, or someone wrapped in warmth when they needed it most. These are not merely statistics; they are thousands of moments when hardship gave way to hope.

Empowering Women, Strengthening Families, Shaping Futures

True welfare is not merely about easing hardship; it is about restoring dignity, creating opportunities and opening doors to a brighter tomorrow.

Through Royal Daughters, Revered Guru Ji has taken a powerful stand against female foeticide and gender discrimination, adopting girls who were abandoned or at risk of losing their lives before birth as his foster daughters. From 23 January 2007 to 2026, 21 daughters have been lovingly adopted and given the opportunity to grow, learn and flourish, carrying a simple yet powerful message: every daughter is precious.

Through Self-Esteem, women facing financial hardship are empowered with vocational opportunities. By 31 May 2026, 155 sewing machines had been provided to widows, single mothers and destitute women, helping transform skills into livelihoods and confidence into independence.

The Kul Ka Crown initiative encourages a married son, with mutual family consent, to live with and care for his wife’s parents as his own, promoting shared responsibility and stronger family bonds. From 2013 to 1 February 2026, 41 marriages have been solemnised under the initiative.

Through Blessings, 623 daughters received financial assistance for their weddings from 2013 to 22 June 2026, helping families celebrate new beginnings with dignity and joy.

For children without parental support, Shahi Betiyan Basera (Royal Shelter) provides a secure home, education and care, with 16 boys and 21 daughters adopted and supported up to 2026. Through The Greatest Gift, 391 children found loving families through legal adoption from 1996 to 2026.

Alongside these efforts, Education Endowment, Real Education, Talent, Bloom, Career Guide and Child Protection work to ensure that circumstances never become barriers to a child’s dreams.

Standing Beside People When Society Looks Away

The Green ‘S’ reaches beyond the visible and immediate needs of society, extending compassion to those who are often forgotten, vulnerable or left without support.

Through True Life, 1,277 mentally challenged individuals received treatment and care from 2013 to 23 June 2026.

Sahara-E-Insan extends support to families affected by the devastating consequences of addiction, with 4,225 individuals supported from December 2023 to 31 May 2026.

From elderly and differently-abled individuals to accident victims, unemployed people and vulnerable families, the message remains simple: no one should have to face hardship alone.

Service in Every Direction

The Committee’s remarkable journey encompasses environmental campaigns, disaster management, cleanliness drives, road safety, education, healthcare, social awakening, women empowerment, animal welfare and national service.

The Cleanse Campaign, Disaster Relief, Fire Defender, FASTER, Safe Roads, Save Lives, KISAN, SUPPORT for officers, journalists and police, and numerous other initiatives reflect a common philosophy: wherever there is a need, there should be a willing hand to help.

This spirit has also inspired volunteers to assist people during emergencies, support disadvantaged communities and contribute towards building a cleaner, safer and more compassionate society.

The Greatest Credit Belongs to the Vision Behind the Green ‘S’

On this Garav Diwas, the achievements of the Shah Satnam Ji Green ‘S’ Welfare Committee naturally evoke immense gratitude towards Revered Guru Ji.

It was His vision that gave this service movement its direction. It was His guidance that taught countless people that humanity is not merely something to talk about, it is something to practise every day.

He made volunteers understand that service does not require extraordinary wealth or status. A person can give blood, plant a tree, feed a hungry creature, help an accident victim, educate a child, support a family, donate clothes, provide water to a bird or simply stand beside someone in distress.

Every such act becomes a thread in the larger fabric of humanity.

A Legacy That Continues to Grow

Today, the Green ‘S’ Welfare Committee stands as a powerful testament to what collective compassion can achieve.

176 initiatives. Millions of acts of kindness. Countless lives touched. One purpose; human welfare.

The numbers tell the scale of the work, but the real story lives in the smiles of those who received a meal, the families who received a home, the patients who regained health, the people who regained their eyesight, the farmers who found support, the women who became self-reliant, the children who found opportunities and the voiceless creatures that found care.
