National Sports Championship Finals, held at Shah Satnam Ji Cricket Stadium. Revered Guruji said that with the aim of promoting vernacular rural games, soon ‘Drop The Handkerchief’competition will be conducted in the manner of IPL. The whole pandal buzzed & echoed with applause when Revered Guruji announced that the Game will get its identity & recognition at National & International levels. The audience & the players acknowledged and thanked His efforts for encouraging & promoting rural games. Addressing the audience, His Excellency Guruji stated that Dropping Handkerchief game is very thrilling and it will be introduced at National and International level. The way cricket’s & kabaddi’s IPLs are conducted, in the similar fashion , Handkerchief Game’s IPL will be introduced, with the first & second prizes worth 50 lakhs & 30 lakhs respectively. The Man of the Tournament will be awarded with a CAR & the Man of the Match will also get an attractive prize. MSG All Trading Company will sponsor the tournament. The trials will be organised on 18th & 19th August for the selection of the participants. The matches, to be held at indoor stadium, will be telecast live by the TV Channels. He assures that Indian culture is promoted & nourished through such games.
PUNJAB DECLARED OVERALL CHAMPION KNOCKING HARYANA TO SECOND
Punjab was declared Overall Champion pushing Haryana to the second place during 10th Sewadar Garv Diwas (Volunteers Pride Day) National Sports Championship, held at Shah Satnam Ji Cricket Stadium. Revered Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan honoured the winners with the Mementos. Saturday, the second day of the Championship, witnessed seven different sports final contests, conducted one after another at the stadium, which enthralled the audience to the fullest. Punjab credited 40 points in its favour, bagging the Overall Championship Trophy. Haryana became the First Runner up and Rajasthan won Gulstick & Cricket contests.
The Finals of the championship began on Saturday with amateur youth sport, Gullstick (known as TIPCAT in English) contest was won by Rajasthan defeating Punjab. Punjab was knocked out in 6 packs only after making 45 retches. Guller Mohan Lal sent three opponent team players to the pavilion without giving any retch in one pack only. The winners captured the finals in just 4.3 packs with 47 retches. Mr. Anil & Mr. Satish made 20 & 17 retches respectively.
The youth from Punjab were stellar in the second contest, i.e., Drop the Handkerchief Contest. Punjab recorded 73-27 win over Haryana in this game of thrill & agility.
The next competition of hand-eye coordination, Hit the Grape, saw seven teams from Dubai, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, SBS & Rajasthan fighting for the title. The first place was secured by Punjab followed by U.P. at second place, though both the teams had 13 points each initially. Then the Golden Grapes became the decisive steps, in the favour of Punjab, whose player hit the accurate target, taking a lead over the U.P. player’s miss.
In Tug-of-War contest Punjab outsmarted Haryana depicting excellent stamina. This contest was played on the mat in an international style, giving no vent to any speculations. Punjab towered in both the sets of the game.
Then the women sports started, which again proved Punjab women- players mettle. Punjab outwitted Haryana by 64-34’s huge difference in Women Drop the handkerchief game. Shove-with-Bamboo sport also had the same spectacle.
The seventh sport of the tournament was Cricket Cosko in which Haryana defeated Rajasthan in the 10-10 match tremendously. Batting first Rajasthan scored 122 runs in the limited 10 overs at the loss of three wickets. Ashok 31, sukhwinder 30 whereas Prempal contributed 32 runs respectively, in the innings. Gurpreet remained not-out with 18 runs. Haryana lost it as all got out with only 113 runs. So Rajasthan recorded the 9- run- win in its favour.
