A voluntary blood donation camp was successfully held in Southall Sports Centre, Southall, London, England on Sunday 15th June 2014 by Dera Sacha Sauda Volunteers and members of Shah Satnam Ji Green ‘S’ Welfare Force Wing. This Southall Blood Donation was about to shut down as they were only able to collect 8 to 10 units of blood in a day. NHS Blood Services urged Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers to bring more donors.
Subsequently, Dera followers advertised their session by distributing leaflets about next blood donation session and displayed posters at several places. With the holy blessings of Revered Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan, it gave tremendous positive response and the next session witnessed 48 units of blood collected, which was around six times that of the previously held blood donation camp.
Everyone, who witnessed the enthusiasm of the volunteers, greatly appreciated Dera Sacha Sauda followers and for assisting Southall Session to run as normal from there on and extended heartfelt thanks to His Excellency Guruji. The representatives awarded the volunteers with a certificate also. Total 96 units of blood were donated in merely 6 hours with 9 beds. (94 units donated in Southall, London and 2 units donated in Birmingham)
The volunteers had brought banana, bread, cheese, jam and crisp etc with them to serve the donors with, after donating blood. Information about ashram and its welfare activities were given to every blood donor, inhabitant of London. All doctors and nurses praised them as the session went on very smoothly. After donating the blood, everyone was provided with Langar (Community meals) and they recited the holy bhajan (hymns) also.
Noteworthy, Dera Sacha Sauda has got its name recorded in Guinness Book of World Records thrice for highest Blood Donation. This socio-spiritual organisation is referred as ‘True Blood Pump’ for thousands of volunteers have given their consent in written to wipe off the scarcity of blood and ensure availability of safe and quality blood and other blood components, round the clock and throughout
