In it’s 26th attempt to make the nation cleaner and to awake citizens for maintaining cleanliness, Dera Sacha Sauda, the socio-spiritual organization renowned for its numerous social welfare activities, zestfully conducted 26th Mega Cleanliness Campaign in Sheopur (Madhya Pradesh) on Friday, 11th October 2013 post campaigning in 4 cities of Rajasthan this week under the holy commandment of Revered Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan. His Holiness inaugurated the mega event at Jai Stambh, Gandhi Chowk by himself sweeping a portion of dirty area and leaving gas-filled balloons carrying slogan of the campaign “Ho prithvi saaf, mite rog abhishaap” in the air. Revered Guru Ji then waved off a special campaign related flag and directed around 70,000 volunteers who arrived there to participate in the campaign to commence it. The devotion and sincere efforts of these 70,000 volunteers cleaned up the whole city in just one and a half hour.
While inaugurating the drive, Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan encouraged the volunteers and said, “These mega cleanliness campaigns are no less than the Mahayagyas. Those who came here to participate in the drive may be blessed with the Almighty’s divine happiness. This Dark Age is an era of selfishness and working selflessly for others during this time is an incredible job.”
While putting highlight on the motive of this drive Revered Guru Ji said, “The main aim of this mega cleanliness campaign is to awaken general public towards maintaining cleanliness. According to our religions also surroundings must be clean. Dirtiness generates evil thoughts and vices in a man. This campaign will definitely cleanse the outer surroundings but the inner self of people will also be purified. Cleanliness is next to godliness and eradicates diseases.” His Holiness advised people to keep surroundings of their homes clean up to 20-50 feet at least which will in turn safeguard the coming generations.
Revered Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan explained that India is a nation of spiritual Gurus. But it matter of affliction when foreigners call it as Dirty India. We must inculcate well etiquettes in life. Having food without littering; using dustbins etc. We blame the employees of municipality for not keeping appropriate cleanliness whereas they clean the surroundings in the morning but if we keep on spreading the grubbiness whole day, cleanliness cannot be maintained. Both public and municipal staff has to make a combined effort to maintain cleanliness. Public must not litter garbage and municipal staff must fulfill their duties sincerely. His Holiness suggested administration to impose fine on those who litter filth alike foreign nations, this may add on to the treasures of government as well as help people in leaving bad habits.
Residents of Sheopur were spellbound by this extraordinary cleanliness campaign where thousands of Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers and members of Shah Satnam Ji Green ‘S’ Welfare Force Wing cleaned each corner and street of the city in just 90 minutes. The exemplary spirit shown by volunteers adhering to their True Master’s teachings aroused a sense of responsibility among thousands of residents and they vowed to maintain cleanliness in future by signing pledge forms.
