Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan leads 11th and 12th mega cleanliness campaigns at the Holy River Ganges along with Haridwar & Rishikesh.
The first rays of the sun, brought more than 5 lacs of swarming volunteers including thousands of Shah Satnam Ji Green ‘S’ Welfare Force Wing volunteers to the religious places Haridwar and Rishikesh. In unbelievable initiative, volunteers of Dera Sacha Sauda simultaneously descended into the Holy Ganges River to start 11th cleaning up operation from Roorke to Haridwar. The mega drive started by Guruji has already covered 10 major Indian cities including Delhi, Jaipur, Gurgaon etc.
The 12th edition was flagged off by Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan from the Triveni ghat at Rishikesh at 8:30 am. His excellency Guruji released the balloons to start up the campaign. Accompanied by HIS most respected Mother, Mata Nasib Kaur Ji Insan, Guruji initiated the event by removing debris from the shores of the Ganges followed by sweeping the banks. In a jiffy, after Guruji signalled, the crowd descended and cleaned the ghats in a matter of minutes.
While addressing the media persons, His Holiness stressed that it was painful that the sacred river was being polluted with impunity. The influx of untreated sewage and pollutants was indeed worrisome, that too, into a river that was revered as the Holy Mother. Guruji said that citizenry could not be absolved of its responsibility if they were contributing to the problem. Guruji said that the devotees were open to the idea of having a repeat campaign in the pious location but the primary objective was to awaken primarily the residents and bring about behavior change. While answering media queries, HE said that religions are concerned about the purity of the soul and Dera Sacha Sauda recognizes universalism and the oneness of God. Cleanliness is prerequisite to spiritual growth but the importance of spiritual growth was imperative to everyone. Later, the flagging off at Har Ki Pauri by Guruji was reminiscent of the Kumbha. The ghats were practically invisible in the throng of devotees. Guruji reiterated that the epithet ‘Dirty India’, coined by foreigners was a painful one and it was the duty of every Indian to bring India at par with the advanced world in cleanliness.
The entire area from Roorkee to Rishikesh had been divided into 8 zones. On seeing the passion among the volunteers, everyone was found appreciating them. While addressing the volunteers participating in this campaign, Revered Guruji said, “Fortunate are the people who had come here for cleaning the holy cities. If you help someone, his parents get happy and bless you. Same way, God never lets anyone deprived of happiness who server the humanity. All the scriptures mention that the environment must be spick and span to get oneself internally pure. So we must move ahead to clean our surroundings.”
Revered Guruji told, “72 humanitarian activities have been performed presently by Dera Sacha Sauda, like tree plantation, assist in divorce ladies and consenting ex prostitutes’ marriage, eyes donation, body donation after death, construct home for the needy ones, never give and take bribe, etc. By now, around 5 lacs people have been pledged for all these welfare works and have given their consent in written form. Dera Sacha Sauda has got its name recorded in Guinness Book of World Records 15 times for blood donation and tree plantation. Guruji said, “We are intended to work and we are assiduous as well as sagacious. We don’t work the passion and spirit of volunteers.”
During the 11th cleanliness earth campaign, Revered Guruji reached at Har ki Pauri at 10:00 am, where lacs of volunteers felicitated HIM by paying the holy nara in chorus. His Holiness Guruji blessed them all and guided them to maintain the sanctity and cleanliness and put off the foot-wears while going inside the holy river, Ganga.
Cabinet Minister Dinesh Aggarwal, Central Minister Virender Rawat s/o Harish Rawat, Haridwar Press Club, and other prominent members appreciated the campaign whole heartedly and said this campaign as a boon.
Local inhabitants of Haridwar, and other visitors reached there from every nook and corner admired this campaign and said, “Volunteers passion is worth appreciating.”
