Cleanliness Earth Campaign
Cleanliness Earth Campaign at Puri, Orissa On 5th May, 2012
It is noteworthy that the grand road of the religious place, Puri was almost in the form of sewerage. Sewerage water on the road was all around, which was making the condition worse. The dirty water was oozing out of sewer and spreading on entire road, which was a headache for motorists and passersby. Shopkeepers were also distressed due to it. With Guruji’s holy motivation, the volunteers cleaned up all that with their hands and shovels and set an example of rendering selfless services. Whole area was divided into zones, sectors and further into wards to successfully implement the agenda.
These campaigns are intended to clean the country so that citizens understand their duty in keeping the city clean and do not litter around. Guru Ji says regarding these drives, “Cleanliness is the essential condition for eradicating or keeping at bay diseases and ailments. Our aim is to create awareness about the need to have clean surroundings and also sensitize people about various diseases like dengue, malaria, etc, which spread due to poor sanitation.”
District collector, Puri, Sh. Arvind Aggarwal, CMO Dr. G.R. Sahu, Municipality president Shashilata, Sub inspector town police station Shashimata, Teacher M. Khan, Sh. Rajender Pandey, administrative officers and other representatives expressed their heartfelt thanks to His Holiness Guruji for conducting the cleanliness earth campaign and inspiring others for the same.
