As we observe the World Environment Day 2018, mother earth was gifted with hundreds of saplings planted by volunteers of Dera Sacha Sauda in different blocks. Moreover, people at Dera Sacha Sauda not only plant saplings but also nurture them with utmost care as guided by Revered Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan, who sermonizes to take care of plants as our own children.
If we cannot control the things that are degrading environment like urbanization, industrialization etc., certainly we can do things which upgrade and preserve the environment. More than 50 million plants have been planted by DSS volunteers to date, and this figure is increasing nonstop. Along with tree plantation drives, great environmentalist Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan has initiated various other efforts like inspiring masses to give up the use of polythene, use of human bony cremation remnants for nurturing plants rather than releasing them in rivers, inspiring farmers not to burn agri-waste rather use it for fodder, making movies like Jattu Engineer which shows how to reuse animal and human waste. All these measures promote the message of restoring our environment.
