Under the ideals set by Revered Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan, Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers and members of Shah Satnam Ji Green ‘S’ Welfare Force Wing successfully accomplished 8th Cleanliness Campaign on August 31, 2014 at – Sri Ravidas Gurdwara in Gravesend, Kent, England. The volunteers having high zeal and enthusiasm for the cleanliness campaign concluded it with perfection.
Every participant of the campaign was very happy and energetic to render his services. They dedicatedly painted the whole Gurudwara from inside and outside as well. Also, they cleaned the toilets without any hesitation or shyness. Female volunteers helped in cooking langar and washing up the Gurudwara. Volunteers from different parts of England like London, Birmingham, Luton and Cardiff participated enthusiastically.
Sh. Prem Insan, a DSS volunteer, who is a local resident of Gravesend, Kent arranged a meeting with the president of Gurudwara as they wanted to know more about the welfare works done by the Ashram. Some of the responsible members went to them in June 2014 and narrated them everything about Dera Sacha Sauda and the Humanitarian Activities pursued by them. The president and secretary of Gurudwara were highly impressed and asked them to do this sewa in Gurudwara. The volunteers agreed for the same.
The work which was completed in 5.5 hours, normally takes 2 weeks according to them and has an estimated cost of £10,000 (Rs, 10,00,000 INR). After the completion of this noble cause the authorities paid thanks to Revered Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan for being the source of inspiration for such noble cause.
They rewarded everyone with the token of love and asked for their help in future also. Dera Sacha Sauda, the socio-spiritual organization based in Sirsa, Haryana aims to promote cleanliness & a germ-free atmosphere in the entire Universe. It emphasizes in keeping public places and surroundings as clean as one maintains at home. To accomplish this motto, several cleanliness campaigns are conducted from one country to the other on a timely basis.
